Greetings from the West Coast! I’m hanging out the Bay Area for the long weekend and catching up with many friends both old and new. One of the hardest parts about adulthood is keeping in touch with people. As we all pursue our individual passions and dreams, we naturally drift geographically apart. But it’s so rewarding and incredibly exciting to see and visit friends in new places in all ways physically, professionally, and emotionally! It’s also amazing how a simple change of scenery and seeing familiar faces can be so re-energizing! It’s only be a day or two but I’m already feeling refreshed and ready for whatever comes my way. And while I gear up for the rest of summer, I’m doing so while rocking this amazingly gorgeous lace halter top from Tobi!
This is the third and final outfit feature post in the Tobi x Penny For Her Thoughts collaboration! In this series, I’ve dedicated my efforts to bringing you the inside scoop on some of Tobi’s latest styles and fashion pieces. Earlier this week, I shared a Deep-V Floral Pattern Romper. And just last week, we took a look at a versatile LBD (little black dress) with off-the-shoulder ruffles. Today, we’re taking a look at my favorite piece yet, the “Above All Lace Halter Top” which I will say is aptly named!:
- Fit: Runs true to size
I ordered an XS based on the Tobi measurements guide on their official website. I would say that it runs true to size if not slightly loose. The neck has two button enclosures and the backside is fitted with a soft elastic to keep the top securely in place! The scalloped lace hem sits right at my hips and has an even length all the way around. It fits my pseudo-petite frame very well and given the top’s built in flexibility, I think would look great on many body types! - Feel: Love It!
The top is constructed with a well-constructed lace overlay and lined with a cream colored synthetic material underneath. The liner feels so soft against my skin and I’ve had no issues with comfort at all! (I was a bit hesitant about how the halter neck would feel, but there was no need to worry!) The lace top is a cotton and nylon blend, giving it a light feel and making it smooth to the touch. And the top feel as good as it makes me feel wearing it! This top made it in my suitcase for my trip out west, and will definitely a top choice for the coming months! - Fashionability: 5/5
Lace is a classic, and the pattern used for this top is well thought out and absolutely beautiful! The large flowers perfectly frame the chest area, which adds a sweetheart silhouette against the illusion halter from the netting up to the neck. Those same large flowers are used as the basis of the scalloping along the hem, wrapping around the top. Oh, and that (sexy) back! It’s a bit of flirty fun with this perfect summer top. There’s no question that this both a fashionable and timeless piece!
To finish off the look, I selected a pair of khaki chino shorts and lace crochet wedges for a prime summer ensemble! (I’m taking a quick tangent here to also gush about my extreme crush on wedges. Now, while I love a good heel, wedges as an unparalleled alternative–they’re both classy and casual, provide extra stability when walking, and are a more comfortable shoe all around. My vote for summer shoes goes to a good pair of wedges!) Lastly, I’m armed with a little shoulder bag to store all my daily go-to’s, which now includes allergy medicine! Yikes. And with that, this outfit is ready for just about any summer adventure to come my way!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you had a great time following the Tobi x Penny For Her Thoughts collaboration series! It was such a pleasure to try different summer styles, and incorporate Tobi pieces into my wardrobe. Don’t be surprised if you see a revisit of some of these pieces, too! In the meantime, I wish you all a wonderful Memorial Day weekend ahead. And I love hearing from you, so please drop me a line with your thoughts in the comments below!
