Pink Blazer: Date Night Casual

My weekend flew by and now I’m desperately trying to make up for lost time… I guess that’s what happens when it’s time spent with some of my New York favorites!

Valentine’s Day is just days away and there are so many things I want to share!  While it might not be obvious to anyone but me yet (since there’s only 1 post mtd, I’m sorry!), I’m aiming to stick with a pink-ish theme of sorts.  At least for the next few posts so bear with me!  Grr :D

I present to you my new favorite blazer.  It’s pink!  It’s gorgeous…

And it’s… from H&M.  What?!

Secret’s out.  H&M has a surprisingly great selection of business-casual wear that looks great, and won’t break the bank.  I’ve been looking for a powder pink blazer for some time now, and (while this is more of a peachy/fleshy pink) I couldn’t resist when I saw this one chillin’ on the store hanger waiting to be swept up.

I am a huge fan of how well it frames the waist.  The blazer is tapered; the cinch-est part of which hits right at the small of the waist, and then softly loosens to drape over the hips.  The lapel features a long and soft edge.  The absence of sharp corners and edges that are found on more traditional business blazers gives it a more casual and approachable feel.   

 

It’s easily dressed up or down, but since it’s a blazer you’ll feel pressed and polished regardless of how its worn!  I paired it with a neutral, pastel-y palate with a fun and chunky faux pearl necklace, a white contemporary-lace top, suede booties, and a pair of comfy jeans to capture a more relaxed and casual look.  Perfect for laid-back Valentine’s Day plans, or anything really!
