I hated floral prints with a passion for the better part of a decade. I think it’s because I associated floral prints with the clothes my mom chose for me when I was younger. Don’t get me wrong, I love my mom and I certainly understand the desire for mothers to dress their little daughters in cute dresses, but once I was old enough to put my foot down on what clothing to wear and purchase, I would have none of that “ugly flowery business.”
Fast forward to today, and I’m amidst a growing collection of floral print clothing–rompers, skirts, dresses, tops… you name it, I probably have a floral version of it! I’ve come to realize that flowers aren’t all too bad. And it makes for an easy, classic-yet-playful outfit!
With this time of year being one of travel, weddings, BBQ, and other outdoor events, having a go-to dress is an absolute must! Something light and breathable that embodies the spirit of the season… this floral print dress is it! Featuring a simple silhouette that highlights a petite waist and a stunning knee-length skirt, it’s perfect for special occasions or even a casual afternoon stroll through the city.
For this past Labor Day weekend, I wore my classic whites in true Labor Day spirit in this floral ensemble, complete with my favorite white pumps and a new thistle-colored saffiano cross body bag from Kate Spade. It was a perfect look for an afternoon spent in the sunny outdoors, and transitioned perfectly for date night with my beau.

I’m already looking forward to the next long weekend, but will gladly enjoy this beautiful pseudo-summer, pseudo-fall weather with perhaps a couple more opportunities to throw on this dress. What are your thoughts? Leave me a line about what you think about florals and other prints? Thanks for stopping by!
