Mother nature seems to be playing tricks on us. One week it’s snowy, and the next has highs in the mid 60s. And the end of February has us facing a day in the 70F’s with a thunderstorm thrown in! Puzzling. But dressing amidst the turbulent weather doesn’t have to be. A scarf, light sweater, and a pair of jeans work great in a range of temperatures. The combo makes for an easy casual transitionary outfit between Winter and Spring!
I always get excited this time of year. The transitionary period between seasons can be awkward, but there are so many things to look forward to! After months of darkness, grey skies, and bitter cold, I’m more than ready to welcome the sweet rays of warm sunshine, brighter skies, and longer days! Granted, this year’s winter hasn’t been terrible and we’d only seen 1 day of substantial snow (pictured here), but I can’t help but feel excited about Spring and Summer ahead!
Sandstone is typically a color I would reserve for Fall. And my chevron sweater and matching booties would suggest quite the Fall-time vibe. But I love finding ways to restyle pieces from my closet, especially when it comes to crossing seasonal boundaries!
To bring out the springtime vibe, a quick splash of color with a bright scarf and playful earrings are a perfect way to transform the entire look into a casual transitionary outfit. You can’t deny that the bright, cool colors of the jacquard scarf embody Spring! Also, how cute are the drop stone earrings? The stone color perfectly compliments the colors of the multi-colored scarf. Thanks for the scarf, mom! And thank you, Mary (my future mother-in-law), for the earrings! I can’t deny that I have mothers who have classy taste :)
Here’s to wishing everyone a wonderful start to March, and a wonderful start to the changing season ahead! And while I’m all about layer-friendly pieces and color-balancing for transitionary pieces, I’d love to hear about your own tips and tricks for transitionary outfits!
