Happy Easter! I’ve realized that I am more of a reactive (versus proactive) poster, as exhibited here. It’s a little too late to inspire a “Sunday Best” look now, but the good news is that this ensamble is perfect for dressy events clear through the summer months! Easter weekend is the perfect calendar-cue to officially break free from the blacks, grays, and generally darker colors of winter and exchange them for more vibrant and/or pastely hues to match the (hopefully) warmer weather.
Post-Easter also marks the start of outdoor celebrations and rooftop parties, not to mention the year’s busy wedding season! I find that a little lace + a touch of skin + a vibrant color makes for the perfect outfit combination; it’s classy and elegant, but also fun and young.
I adore this BCBGeneration dress for hitting all three requisits perfectly. (I actually first wore it for a friend’s wedding this past summer.) The flowy hi-lo skirt is flirty in the front, while providing ample coverage in the back—and it floats beautifully behind you as you walk! The open back and lace trim cutouts show off a sun-kissed glow without being overly revealing.

I choose to sandwich the minty dress with tasteful white accents as white is a neutral way to highlight the season’s vibrant colors. Thus, I opted to break in my new white leather Nine West D’Orsay pumps for today’s occasion. Yes, I’m guilty. It’s another new pair of Nine West pumps in a span of 10 days. What can I say, I’m a fan! But don’t you just love the elegant dual-strap and pointed toe? And to finish it off, I slipped on a three-quarter sleeve white blazer and gold jeweled necklace for a clean and polished look.
