We’ve still got a good month of summer left, but I’ve noticed I’ve been lacking on the content front for this season… I guess I’ve been too distracted by baking!
So I’ve got good news and bad news. Bad news first? I sprained my ankle quite seriously last night at a SoulCycle class. Quite a bummer because I’d wanted to try it out (was my first class) to augment my usual work out routine and instead found myself on crutches and a multi-colored ankle the size of a softball. Oops. And I was soo close to finishing up a 12 week work-out regimen (I was on week 10), too! Sigh, there are definitely worse things in life…
… Especially since this leads to the good news: I now have a few more hours in the week not dedicated to the gym that I can now devote to working on pfht! Blessings can sometimes come in disguises :) So here we are, with a SECOND post this week! And, I’m also looking to incorporate some new content in the design and decor space as well. I recently moved into a new apartment and I’d love to share the decor ideas I’ve used to spruce up my albeit cozy living space! More on that to come.
Did you see that necklace? To say I’m obsessed about it would be an understatement. This chunky, pearlized, beaded heap of a necklace is my FAVORITE recent buy. The layers are gorgeous and the colors work so well as a neutral statement piece for just about any outfit color scheme—pearls are a classic, and the complimentary gold and silver-grey beads work to temper the piece for both warm and cool palates. The necklace also works well to instantly transform an outfit from bland to bold. Love it! There’s a good chance you’ll be seeing a lot of this in upcoming posts.
While the necklace steals most of the spotlight, you can’t dismiss the rest of this chic outfit. Besides, accessories are only as good as the foundation (read: clothing) it’s built on, right? Okay I may have made that up but I believe it to be true. The outfit, clothes and accessories alike, communicate with each other to form a holistic ensemble. And this what happened here. This simple blue-grey chiffon top (available in petite sizing ftw) offers a simple yet elegant backdrop and is great for warm-weather nights! I love the drop and flow of this top, it makes me feel youthfully elegant and also features generous room and coverage for major date-night eating to happen—that’s always a plus for me ;)
To finish it off, some tried and true whites. White cropped jeans for a played up yet causal vibe. White strappy pumps for a dressier and ooh-la-la! feel. White oversized clutch for all those date-night essentials you need to carry (phone, cash, cards, touch-up make-up, gum). Combine all these elements together and you’ve got yourself a foolproof look for a summer’s night out!

Hi Eunice! Great blog, I really like this outfit and the color combination. The photos make the top look a steely blue color? Anyway, I love it and especially your white heels. It’s so hard to find really great white heels. Bravo!
