Wow, it’s August you say?! It’s unbelievable how quickly this summer has been ticking by… I’ve been terrible about snapping the season’s looks. Is being too distracted with enjoying the outdoor summer sun and baking random food-coma-inducing goodies an appropriate excuse?? Good news is that this post is PACKED with goodies and some summer staples; there’s still plenty of sunshine and warmth left for these fun looks!
Firstly, my newest satchel, a Large Selma from Michael Kors in Luggage. It’s the perfect size (I can fit a compact laptop with ease), the perfect structured shape, and the perfect color (“Luggage” goes well with everything)! The saffiano leather finish gives it a modern and elegant feel; it’s a great all-around bag that’s attracted many compliments from friends and strangers alike!
To go with it, a simple black dress with sheer panels to beat the heat. Throw on a cognac leather skinny belt and sandals (to match the satchel!), and a strand of bright red beads and you’re ready to go for a solid day out. But what I love the most is how the outfit comes together with a rolled up, knotted chambray shirt! I’ve really learned to love chambray—it makes for a comfortable and versatile look. But just about any knotted button-up would work great with a black dress base to really accentuate the waist and add a casual, summer-night feel!

I love how this look came together and am so pleased with this summer chambray style! What are some ways you’ve worn chambray this season? Thanks again for dropping by… I’d love to hear from you so please leave your thoughts in the comments below!
